I finally got to see Yosemite blanketed in a thin layer of snow. Though I wasn't able to experience it immediately after a storm, which I'm determined to do one of these days, it was still breathtaking. We were there for a weekend. We stayed in Curry Village overnight in a heated cabin. This was great because all food, toiletries, and anything with a scent didn't have to go in a bear locker! That made it extremely convenient! Well, don't want to bore you with little details, so real quick... We strolled down to Mirror Lake to find that there really isn't a lake there at this time and walking on snow without snowshoes or hiking poles is not easy. Had dinner that night at the Yosemite Lodge. Beautiful photographs of Yosemite are on display and are on sale. But beware! Some cost $2000+!! The next morning, went to the deli to get some lunch. Good sandwiches and coffee and hot chocolate! Drove to Mariposa Grove for some more hiking in the snow. Thank goodness we had poles with us this time, but without snowshoes, we fell into the knee-deep snow numerous times. It was particularly bad for Keith because of a recent back injury. Made a poor attempt of making a snow angel. OK! So here are some pics...
